As Chris already state; the Belgian ones M18 are made of the German masks and converted for the ARS filter. Anyway that happened to only approx. 17000 masks, so these are collectible too!

Good luck with finding your can.

    Best regards,
    Michel

Michel, Thanks for your comment......I understand the Belgian conversions are rather rare.....However, rarity doesn't always dictate value.....I would be lead to believe that German masks w/o the conversions would be the more desirable to collectors....Hence would be more in demand.....

Case in point, I watched a WW2 US optical mask go unsold on eBay.....It was an absolute mint in box original late war (not the more common and often mis-labled Korean War era mask) of which only about 90,000 were made.....It was the only one I've seen on eBay, along with a relic face piece off another....They are hard to find.....Yet, collectors go after the lesser rare M5 Assault gas masks (of which approximately 500,000 were made).....This is because of the history linked to them.....Bodes

Agreed.... the Belgian ones are actually post WW1, so they were never used in action... unless in an earlier life as a German one before being rebuilt.

Inter war stuff is never really a hit.

        Best
        Chris
