I picked this sword up a few days ago, its marked WKC has a nice officers grip, and its unit marked on the guard with a 4.The sword is short looks like ti was cutdown but done at the factory.Is this a fire officers sword? Thanks for any help i can get.

You have a Saxon Police short sword. Look on the underside of the guard and see if there are any property stamps. Some of these swords were shortened from longer swords and some were further shortened by police armorers during the time of the Weimar Republic and NS Zeit. You will often find them property marked on the guard as well as being made in both white metal and gold metal finishes.Comment

Thanks for the help on the sword, the bottom of the guard is not marked but one side is marked with a 4. I would of never guessed it was police.Thanks again for the help.
