1915 Model Stick Grenade with 7 second fuse

Stiehlhandgranate mit Brennzünder, the very first friction fuse stick grenade introduced in 1915. These early ones initially had a 7 second fuse. This example is in original condition with the paper label intact. The handle has the remains of the lacquer that covered the paper wrap of the pull cord loop.

Side by side comparison with the more commonly found m1917 grenade.

I am sorry Hans, but I must hate you now! I can not help, as I have not had the luck to have an M1915, and this is an exceptional example.

If Gus hates you, it means you did something right. I'm glad you like it Gus. This grenade came from a very fine European collection last year, and I am aware of how lucky I was when I was given the chance to buy it.

That's a great find Hans... congrats.

Put me behind Gus if you're lucky enough to run into any more M15's.

                        Hans, Congrats a Fantastic Find

Did you buy the whole collection?

                        Regards Scott.

                          Thanks for the comments Gents.

Scott, I only bought the m1915 grenade, not the entire collection. If you're referring to the two display pictures, I just threw some stuff together to make up a 1915/16 and 1918 theme for the grenades.

Congrat's Hans, that is a fantastic example.

I'd love to own one of these also.

Yours is the nicest one I've seen.

                              All the Best,

                              Alan
