    What kind of ammo pouch is this?

    Anyone recognize these insides if they are original? Thought it might be an 1887, but it looks a bit different.

    Looks like an M1887 pouch. They only carried three clips per pouch. Originally for 11mm ammo, I think?
    There was an absolute stunner one of these on ebay not long ago. I mean mint. I dropped out when the bidding left this planet!

      That pouch is correct the way it is. Normally worn by pioneers, foot artillery, telegraph and other technical troops, who carried a K98a. Kraus calls it a Model 87/88. It is basically an updated version of the old M87/88, which came in black leather and had no metal clip inserts. I have yet to see this brown one dated before 1915, though earlier ones should exist.
