Seems I'm into Tschako's lately... Here's another one...
It's a mod. 1888 which was altered in 1892 and 1897. It was worn by enlisted men of the Garde-Jäger-Batl. or Garde-Schützen-Batl.
1888:
- Mod 1888 Tschakos are signifficantly reduced in hight.
- From 1888 on, the Tschako has on each side a black vent instead of the vent behind the Feldzeichen as the older models had.
- The chinstrap was from 1988 on the fixed whit the threaded bolt system instead of the hook and loop.
1892:
- In 1892 the threaded bolt system was replaced by the M91 chinstrap posts.
1897:
- In 1897 all Tschako's received the Reichskokarde on the right hand side.
This Tschako still has the wappen secured by two bolts and nuts, rather than the loops and leather retainers on the M95 models.
