Telegraphers buckle original or not

Wandering if this buckle is an original piece or not.
I was once told that these buckles did not have the extra piece of brass on the inside where the rivets come through?
If anyone can help out that would be much appreciated.

yes, unfortunately this buckle represents a known fake, with the extra metal on the inside and a DRGM stamp that does not make any sense at all.
btw a brass buckle at that time should not have iron/ steel prongs.
