Nice original buckles,do any of them have Regiment stamps on the bottom of the buckle,it was quite common for the Saxons to do this.

Not the best photos, but here is one marked to the 182.IR.

            Thank you Larry
Ive been watching a few of these reg. marked buckles at auction. The prices
have realy shot up! Havent they?
Also seen some modern attempts at stamping them.

Sorry guys for the double post, but I thought I would dig out the remainder of our Saxon buckles and post them here. The 1915 model in the upper left is faintly marked Osang inside the catch, the walking out pattern in Tombak is unmarked.

The two lower examples are from different makers, the one on the left is maker marked C.HEIMHOLD forward of the catch and is unit marked 102.R. on the upper side. The buckle on the right is maker marked G.H.OSANG DRESDEN 1914 inside the catch and is unit marked 103.R. on the bottom side.

Eric, glad you like'd the 108.R buckle, and you are right they have gone crazy price-wise. I was fortunate to have purchased most of ours many years ago when they were much more reasonable.

                  Larry

PS, sorry for the small size of these images, I'm still getting the hang of this photo business....the crown detail is quite different on the Heimhold and Osang pattern buckles. LS

                    Fantastic buckles, everyone!

None of mine are unit or maker marked, unfortunately.

It's really great to see all the buckles that have either unit markings, and/or maker markings as well, since it's really difficult to find them marked.

That 108th Reg't example is a super rare buckle, Larry, and in great condition. Congrats! It's really neat to see Spike's double-unit marked buckle too.

                    Thanks everyone for sharing!

                    All the Best,

                    Alan Schaefer

                        Larry,

Any maker marks (with dates) on the leather tabs that you can share with us?

                          Hi Chip

The HEIMHOLD tab is blank, the 1915 pattern is marked XXX GESH.THIELE DRESDEN 1916. I should also add that the 108 Regt buckle is marked inside the catch, G.H.OSANG DRESDEN 1915.

                            Larry,

The tab on the M15 probably reads,"Act. Ges. H. Theile" (Actien Gesellschaft, H. Thiele). I have seen it clearly on many leather items.
