2 1916 Shakos

Hello I have these two shako in near mint condition. Both are 1916 marked. They are missing the chin strap and cockade.

Guard Star liner is on the left. It is size narked 56 and L VERCH 1916.

Prussian has the tan liner and is marked 55 1/2 and KLEINHEINZ MUCHEN.

This winter cover came with the Shakos but it is a little large for a 55 1/2 or 56.

These are the cover markings. What would the two side slits be for.

I think the cover is a postwar example. The ink mark also looks to be from the 1930's-40's. Issue imperial covers had hooks at the front and back visor. They also had a slot for the cockade. Mine is B.A. marked and dated.

There were private purchase covers during the imperial period, but I still think this one is of later manufacture.
