M16 camo....opinion please

I see field gray under the front gray panel and this is good. I see rust in other area where I'd rather like to see the field gray.

My personal opinion of this one is it's a battle field pick up post Armistice. I think this helmet sat in the weather for a few months maybe a year before it was picked up and painted either by a doughboy doing occuation duty or a Frenchmen selling souvenirs to tourists.

This is just my best guess if I were looking at buying it.

I agree with what has been said by previous contributors :
- the camouflage pattern is unusual
- there are many exceptions to the rules anyway
- the paint looks old and probably period
- it's difficult to make a difference between a helmet painted on the 10Th November and the 12Th November 1918....
