    Help Please...Prussian Feldrock Question...

    Gentlemen,
I have a framed photograph of an enlisted man wearing what appears to be the M1910 Field Tunic.
The photograph lacks a certain amount of clarity, but on close inspection I can just make out some numerals which are on the left hand side of the tunic collar.
They appear to be XVI with a 9 or possibly a g beneath.
Never having encountered this before, can anyone suggest what they might represent?
I was wondering if this might be either Grenadier Regiment Nr 9 or Infanterie Regiment Nr 16 ??????
I have tried scanning the image and taking a photograph, but withot success, but these numerals are definitely there.
Help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Ray.

    Hi Ray,

this should be a Landsturm-Bataillon of the XVI Army Corps.

Nothing unusual at all, they wear these numerals always on the left and right side of the collar.

      Jaeger,

Thank you for your helpful reply.
I assume that the 9 beneath the XVI indicates the 9th Landsturm Regiment then?
      Regards,
      Ray.

        amydron,

They started using these collar corps and battalion numbers in 1915. Before that Landsturm troops wore a battalion number on their Litewka collar.
