    Collar Tabs

    Greetings All,

I usually collect Heer Third Reich era insignia. These ended up being purchased because I got a good deal on them. I am unsure of the time period. I thought they might be Reichswehr/heer but could not find an example.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Fred,

You are correct in thinking that the backing material could be from the postwar period, and even though this color backing was worn in the 1915-1918 era, it would not have been for Litzen such as these. This color material (Resedagrün or so-called, Abzeichentuch) was the collar material for the Bluse. However, Litzen for the Bluse were all of a short style, similar to the size of WWII Litzen. These long ones were worn during WWI, but on the prewar and M15 dress tunics, which had various colored collars, none of which were Resedagrün. So your insignia, I believe, are from the transitional army or the Reichswehr.
