It just goes to show. You cant beat a hands on or good close up shots.
It looked so good from eight feet away in the original photo! So our evaluation William went from $2000 to - $200. Its been a tough week I needed a laugh.

Ohhhh my dreams are crushed! I've had that helmet in my files for two years. It looked so good in the first photo and now

I FIND IT ON EBAY!!! LOL

It's funny how I posted the photo and within weeks it pops up on ebay.

I'd probably pay 200 for it at most. I wonder if the pattern is original or if someone copied an original.

Look at it this way. You didn't pay two grand for it... only to find out two years later it was a lemon. I think you have learned a lot from this forum in the last couple of years.

This forum and a few mistakes wises one up pretty fast. Now after drooling over the helmet and wanting it for two years only to find it's a bad one I still have left over feelings for it and still want to buy it like a guy who still wants the girl who cheated on him LOL

But I doubt the seller will part with it for it's true value. Peanuts.

I know it's off-topic but the post that started this thread asked the above question. Germans weren't the only folks making camos: I really like this one. Straight out of the bush and with his tunic.

Tunic. Notice the Unit patch and helmet are both Motor Transport Corps.

I notice also the discharge chevons. Vast majority of Allied camo helmets were done after Nov. 11th 1918. I think a few might have been done and worn in the field before the military put an end to it.

No one wanted Allied troops to be confused for Germans with their camo helmets.

Hey guys. Seller tells me a friend of his was offering 520.00 for it. I was given the chance to top it cause I sent an email saying if it does not sell.....

I did not think anyone would offer more then 300 and if I was to pay for it I don't think I'd pay more then 250.00
