    Help, please. I cannot understand, what is a helmet, and what period?

          Thats funny I let you win this helmet on Ebay! I was bidding on it, and gonna snip it in the last few seconds of the auction... But you drove the price up a little more then it was worth...so I let it go. It's not a military helmet at all. The wappen eagle is not a national eagle, so I'm guessing it's a city wappen from somewhere, possibly Bavarian, Its most likely to be for police or fire service from the early 1900's. Hey, Congrats and best of luck to you sir!

              Bavaraian helmet M/1878 for schwerer Reiter (heavy cavallrie). But on front there must be a "L" (for King Ludweig an a Crown)

                      The plate is for Nurnburg, it is a rather rare police helmet in tough shape.
