Maybe you should pay it some 'mind' as it is the original owners name or the name of the fellow that 'liberated' it.....

Not sure what the hand writing says. I don't pay that kinda thing much mind. Seller nor I can make out the name. It does not look like a German Soldier's name.

I don't pay the impossible any mind, you either can read something or you can't. In this case I can't read it and weather or not the name is there it makes no difference to the helmet's existance. It's still a good German helmet no matter the names written in them.

There is unit as well as name, very interesting indeed. You never know what you might just have there.

I can make out "16 ?" may be "16 Komp" but that does not make sense.

If it turns out to be the 16th Bavarian Infantry Regiment then you may have a lot more history there than you realise,

I wonder how many of us are actually sitting on the helmets of some very notable Germans from WW1 or may be they went on to become very well known in WW2.

The history is there, written on the rear visor,
