        Prussia State Officer Pickelhauben

I believe what you have is a Prussian State Officer Helmet. The Chin Scales denote officer. The eagle is the Imperial Eagle. Crazing of the leather is normal and often present. Although by no means an expert, that is my opinion. The Kokard showing is the National State.

Value is only a guess, but I would say 800 to 1000 dollars. There are others who can give you a better idea. The helmet looks complete except for a rivet inside. You should post a photo of the opposite side Kokard also.

        Regards, Rich

            More info

Also, the size is marked as 57. The other numbers may indicate a unit, not sure.

              rojk84,
It's NOT an officer's helmet....regular EM prewar type. Scale chin straps were used prewar by many differant regiments.....Officers would have a differant body style, much more detailed front plate, differant liner, tall removable spike with pearl ring, etc. Still a nice pre-war helmet, value more in the $500.00 to $600.00 range, IMO.

                Hello,

I will add that for me it is a 1891 model and not 1895.
