But the kind of blue color looks not identical like the one in the book.
It looks more like turquoise than a dark blue color. And the center of the Kokarde is red and not blue.

longer weared as 1871.........perhaps over the years 1895, so they left the brunswikcorkarde and over the year 1896 they left their special black uniform "Polrock" and become the "Waffenrock" like prussian pattern.
It is also nearly normal when you find a brunswik black hat with Reichscocrde.....
OK..it's better when it have the early yellow/blue one......
clear now?

I would have to say that this Schirmmütze is not Braunschweig, as the colour is not at all close to the Dunkelblau of a Braunschweig shoulder strap, which matches the collar, which matches the hat band and piping. This looks green/blue almost? Plus, I have never seen an original Schirmmütze made before 1918 with ventilation grommets. Not a chance. Same for the thin piping; caps made before 1895 have very fat thick piping.Last edited by Tony & Kaiser; 10-01-2009, 07:33 PM.
