It's rare, it's Bruswiek (Braunschweig) Infantry Rgt. No.92 Visorhat fit's to the "Polrock"

But the kind of blue color looks not identical like the one in the book.

It looks more like turquoise than a dark blue color. And the center of the Kokarde is red and not blue.

          Baden Kokarde

longer weared as 1871.........perhaps over the years 1895, so they left the brunswikcorkarde and over the year 1896 they left their special black uniform "Polrock" and become the "Waffenrock" like prussian pattern.
It is also nearly normal when you find a brunswik black hat with Reichscocrde.....
OK..it's better when it have the early yellow/blue one......
            clear now?

I'm still sceptical. I think it is not a Reichskokarde on the cap. Looks more like this Kokarde!

Baden is always brass, or brass and gold platet. This one ist Iron and rusty - in typical form. I believe its a prussian one. All others don't make sence.

I think the Kokarde had oxidation, but it looks not like rusty iron to me.

Let us hear, what other collectors think about the cap and the Kokarde!

Perhaps a typing error harrah de? When Braunschweig joined the North German Confederation 18 March 1886, they adopted the Preußen pattern Waffenrock for the X Armee Korps.

I would have to say that this Schirmmütze is not Braunschweig, as the colour is not at all close to the Dunkelblau of a Braunschweig shoulder strap, which matches the collar, which matches the hat band and piping. This looks green/blue almost? Plus, I have never seen an original Schirmmütze made before 1918 with ventilation grommets. Not a chance. Same for the thin piping; caps made before 1895 have very fat thick piping.

All the time I looked only at the color and the Kokarde of the cap and I forgot to talk about the piping and the ventilation grommets.

Thank you for the additional facts, Tony!

I would like to know from Steve if this cap is black or dark green. It looks somewhat green to me.
