From what I can see from the pictures. You have a nice example of a M16 helmet.
Only thing I notice is the drawstring for the liner has been replaced with a leather one. And the broken chinstrap . But What I can see a nice helmet.
With your hands on inspection the liner pins have not been played with?
Cushion pads still there? Paint looks good? paint looks to be there forever?
This looks to me a nice helmet.
As for the leather drawstring, there's nothing wrong with that. They were used in steel helmets during WW1 and are still encountered occasionally, especially in early M16 helmets. There are also other variants of drawstrings, not just one type as with WW2 helmets.
