    Hello all,

Hopefully someone can advise if this is a Prussian Pioneer officers or senior NCO's pioneer helmet plate, Thanks in advance.

On these images it is hard to tell if it is a frosted silver which has tarnished with time or a war-time zinc example with a gilt wash ????

The reverse looks to be zinc ????

Certainly an officers one with fine detail for sure but is it silver or gold ????

          Very interesting, Chris

                  Face facts,

I am the only guy who ever bothers to take the time to talk to you about such things.

The only person now take note of that,

                    Must have overlooked this one...
I think it's not Pioneer, because it has to be silver colored then. This plate appears to be alu-zinc with gold colored finish... So, it's a plate from a late war private purchase Prussian spiked helmet.
Better pics would maybe show more detail and color, so if possible...

Here are some more images, note the brass buckle with a white metal centre is used as a comparason, this is a silver plate, NOT brass/gold wash etc.
