Holes in M16: Speculation....

I saw the holes in this helmet on ebay.

Same hole type as a helmet we discussed here not too long ago but I don't recall the details.

I once saw a photo of a large pile of M16/17/18 helmets with a worker yielding a pick ax De-Militarizing the helmets. I saw this photo before I collected the helmets and it was one reason my collecting began as late as it did. I thought M16's were so rare that I could never afford one if lucky enough to see one outside a museum.

Is it possible this helmet was pick axed as I saw in the photo?

Might be pickaxe holes, but, who knows when they were made. It's obvious the paint was applied after the holes were made... probably last week. Well... maybe not last week... a few years ago.

The photos are really poor I dont know why the guy bothers ,he might as well have used a photo of some mud .Rob
