    Kraftfahrer shoulder boards

My son just brought me these great leather ' Kraftfahrer ' shoulder boards from Germany .
The quality of the 'K' cyphers seems to indicate officer's shoulder boards .

Actual ,the upper thicker leather sheet has it's edges folded over and a thin layer of leather is sewn over the fold over on the backside of the board .
The slip- on tounge is constructed of 2 thin layers of leather and also has a stitch line around the button hole to reinforce the opening .
Very much a high quality leather work !
Since my Grandfather served with the 'Kraftfahrer ' in WWI , I am very happy to have these boards .
I think VIC will like these also !

Actually Bernd, they are for Mannschaften, worn on the leather coat. They came chain-stitched or in gilt brass as in your example. My friend Chip has examples of both . Those are extremely hard to find, they could not have been cheap.

                Bernd,

Congratulations! Now you must have your son find you the leather coat. You already have all of the insignia.
