Yowzers! What a beautiful helmet. It always amazed me that on these high quality officer and private-purchase helmets, the crowns of the lions were not vaulted. This seems to be limited as far as I know, only to Bayern helmets. Thanks for sharing! Tony

Hallo Claudio,
That pattern of spike is found on M1915 officer Pickelhauben. Do the chinscales also twist off to reveal a m91 style lug? Normally, these M1915 oficer helmets have this feature as well. You have found a beautiful example and your take a superb photo as well! Tony http://www.kaisersbunker.com/

Thanks Tony and Antti for your kind words?
Excuse me, Tony, my ignorance and my bad English; What is a m91 style lug?
I have seen this Haube in Stuttgart at the Militaria show where I had the opportunity to inspect it closely under the personal supervision of Mr. Kube. The very same Pickelhaube is illustrated and described in the recent German book "Deutsche Offiziershelme 1870-1919 Band 1, Steinach Verlang, Joachim Hilsenbeck" on page 146 as "Infanteriehelm Modell 1915 mit abnehmbarer Spitze und verdeckten Rosetten über Knopf 91".
Ciao,
Claudio
