    Austrian M16

I have an Austrian M16 with canvas chinstrap, but the liner is almost completely gone - traces of the leather is still clinging to the liner band. It also looks to me like it may have had camo paint on it, but I can only make out what might have been the black border that seperated the geographic patterns on the helmet.

I am offering it to another member and both of us would like an impartial opinion on its value. I know you have to see it to guess, but we would like any help offered here. Should I post here (I know values are not regularly given online like this), or would interested members prefer that I send pics by email?

    Thank You in Advance!

Camo paint is quite unusual on AU helmets, I would suggest to check it better coz maybe would be a German one.
Anyway AU helmets are rarer the german ones: in italy the average price range starts from 500/600 euros (shell with paint) to 1000/1500 euros (good helmet with liner etc etc).
Always remember that there were several AU helmet productions as Berdoerfner, Hungarian production, Slovenian production (Lubiana) etc etc and the prices of course follow after the grade of rarity.
I apologize for my awful english.
    Hope it helps!

    Cheers
    T

and some history to go with it.

Doughboy by the name of George Lewis from Scranton, Pennsylvania with address painted in the skirt. Hard to see here, but it is legible in hand.

              Any help is appreciated!
