is this Pickelhaube ok?

Hi!
What do you think? Is this Pickelhaube okay as in, do the parts belong together, and is it all original? I had my doubts before, but the more I look around, the more I see variations of screws and visors and whatnot.
Maybe it was repaired, maybe it was not, how can I tell?
I'll go on reading up on this but I'd appreciate any help

I took the helmet apart now, and theres another question that appeared. Are the parts good? I see some differences to other parts on the internet. Like the front shield, it looks very different from the ones I could find...

Katrin, There are a few things that indicate that this is not a military Pickelhaube. First and foremost, the round front visor with cruciform spike base is a feature of Police or Fire Dept helmets, never military for Bayern. The liner is a standard issued Mannschaften pattern, but the spike and base are for an officer. Now, this combination would never be found on a Kaiser Zeit Pickelhaube, but it is found on 1920s and 1930s Police helmets. The spike base studs are not correct, and the front visor trim appears to not be brass? The parts all appear to be fine, including the Bayern Wappen with the "double line", that is fine. The Wappen is the 1886 pattern with laurel leaves in the legs of the Lions, these were removed first in 1896 for Infantry Mannschaften, but for everyone in 1914. So I suppose it is possible an old Wappen might be used after the war for a civilian helmet? If the helmet appears to have all the correct age and looks like it has not been put together, then it must be a 1920s or 1930s civilian helmet of some sort. What though, I am afraid I cannot help. Hi Tony, thank you very much for the information! I have the impression that the helmet has been put together by a collector of some sort, but Im not sure. What I do see are the marks that the Wappen left on the helmet, which is in fact a fire police helmet. It doesnt seem to fit on the helmet. Also, the holes for the Wappen appear to be in the correct places, on the other hand they do not look professionally done but rather just poked into the helmet. The helmet might have been painted over at some time. Unfortunately I dont know enough to be able to tell when all this has been done. Thanks again for your help!
