        Member echofix: It's a fake!!!
Member Jeff Noll: Sell it to me.

The drama about this bayonet is almost equal to a modern daytime television soap opera, minus the sex part...

The member who originally posted this thread keeps crying out "Fake, fake, and fake, blaaahhhhh, blaaaahhhh, blaaaahhhh." It's getting rather like a tired old worn out shoe with a hole in the sole... Or a carnival barker at a sideshow...

I’m with you. I don’t understand the OP’s apparently pivot. I felt that all of the responses (mine excluded) were incredibly valuable and clearly lended almost certain legitimacy to this piece, something I rarely get when seeking information from various sources. I call this the phenomenon the problem of being “too rare”.

Don't the non serif punches alone make the markings suspect?

                  Very strange turn of events.

I suspect the OP felt by presenting a photo from the late Roy Williams' book (which presented a different font) it was being implied that his had fake markings.

Serif fonts were more common, but non serif fonts were also in use during WWI and can be found on equipment and uniform items.

hello, clearly the fonts are different! I am as disappointed as you are! For me the only explanation !!! It is that it is false !!!
