Per requests, here are photos of the Raupelhelm. Can anyone tell me the value?

Dear Mr. Weinand, Against advice from some of our fellow members I originally gave you advice on your previous request for information on a group of helmets. I only asked for a chance to be considered in buying one of them. That you apparently sold them to someone else is ok, that you didn't even brother to send a thank you for my assistance only supports the advice I originally got. No more response from this member.

Bobby Lee, sorry you feel this way and, as I respond to all eMails that I receive, either your server blocks some eMails or you didn't reach me.
As I have been in this hobby for over 50 plus years and respond to questions all the time, I have been told by several other collectors that members of this site are critical and unfriendly and have been told not to respond or comment, but, as with all sour grapes, I avoid characterization of sometimes ill preceived comments and tend to hope that their is good in everyone, as I will in this case.
AS I remember, on my previous find of Imperial helmets, I told those corresponding with me that they would be at the OVMS Cincinnati Show in May, which they were. I sold most of them at that show and sold one prior to the show to one of the forum members who had contacted me through this forum (the felt colonial) and had been fair and helpful, directing me to other sources of information to substantiate his offer. Some of the others I had offered to members on this site, but they passed as they felt the price too high after research and some help with prices (however, they ALL did sell at the show with no complaints).
I don't collect Imperial items and am willing to sell to who ever wants them at reasonable prices, not K Mart prices, however.
So, I guess if no one wants to help, then no one wants to buy.

I for one, do not comment on what a particular helmet "may" be worth, as I am inevitably proved wrong. A common helmet will sell on auction for three times it's normal value, and suddenly every twit thinks that is what it is worth. Even if the next ten similar helmets once again go for the 1/3 price, people get locked into that "top dollar" mentality.
Ask "what it is" and a thread gets replies. Ask "how much" and few, including myself, have the time to spend on that.
And yes, I was one that passed on one of the last lot that you kindly offered to me and I appreciate that. It was just more than I was willing to pay, and since then, I found a superb example, at a price more amicable to my collecting means.
Best regards, Tony http://www.kaisersbunker.com/

Well, evidently my price to you, Tony, wasn't too high as a dealer bought the helmet at the Cincinnati Show, so my price must have been below market or he wouldn't have taken it. No offense taken or given, but just wanted everyone to know that I am not one of the dealers who expects to drain the last dollar out of every piece.
