Militaerpass Q

I just got around to actually looking at a Militärpass I picked up a while back. The awards page lists the EK2, the FKE (obviously a later entry) and the Sachsen-Weimar Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Gold mit Bandschnalle und Schwertern. How rare and/or prestigious is this award (O'Connor says 462 were awarded, but how does this compare with similar awards from other smaller states)? And were there rank criteria for the grades of this one?

What was your guy? I've never seen one, so not a clue. I assume the golds went to senior NCOs. These were the gawdawfulest dumb looking impossible mounting things ever dreamed up in German awards history!!!
