A Rare EK2 Equivalent! Anhalt Friedrich Cross

Nice little set I tripped over in Germany. Cleanest example I have ever seen and the cleanest ribbon you can find. ONLY document for this cross I've ever seen. Check out the ribbon bars, can anyone tell why one is very unusual?? Came with a great Preliminary EK2 document to the same fellow. Nice clean, unmessed with set.

    Ribbon Bars-Front

Here's the front of the 2 ribbon bars that came with the set. Anyone figure this out yet??

        And the rare document!

Most interesting part! The document. At a meeting of "The Secret Society For World Domination" today, neither Rick, nor Rick, has ever seen one of these documents before! How about that??!

          And finally:

A nice close-up of the embossed seal of the ministry. Still nice condition, despite being folded down enough to be tucked in a Militar Pass, or a pocket, or the mailing/award envelope!

Who you callin' "we," Kemo Sabe? (Never attempt mass scanning while having lunch!)

Here from Berhard Holst, via the Magic Editing of Mark Schroeder, is an even RARER beauty, an excellent noncombatant version on a medal bar!!!!

                Rick,

Very nice medal bar. Have you noticed that the ribbons are folded in an unusual way? The ribbon of the last medal on the right, the Anhaltisches Friedrich Kreuz, is totally viewable (exposed). Usually the fully viewable ribbon should be the first from the left (Preussisches Verdienstkreuz f. Kriegshilfe). Do you understand what I mean? It's easy to see it, but difficult to explain. I've seen also a medal bar on the current Kube's auction, which is folded in this manner. Any thoughts?

                Ciao,

                Claudio

I think the original owner of Bernhard's medal bar added the Anhalt cross after the rest of the bar had been made earlier. I have often seen bars where awards are added to an existing group rather than completely remounted.

                    What a small world!

There it is! Sold this bar this year to Kalies and I´m happy it found a new good home! The anhalt one is not added later, the whole bar is made like that...just unusual but original.

                    Best regards

                    Daniel

P.S. the non-com cross was only 500-600 times awarded.

                      Ooo ANOTHER "Daniel-link!!!"

I didn't mean "added in 1967" or something, I meant "added by the original owner 6 months after it was made" sort of a bar. No problems.

Now: kindly send us scans of your entire collection, from the beginning until now, so we can see what ELSE was yours...and now is ours!

What a tiny world and a very nice medal-bar. I wonder what Kalies payed Daniel and what Rick payed to Kalies for this one

Question? Why would a war help cross come before a Red Eagle 4 on this bar?

I think because the Red Eagle was awarded in peacetime.

                              Hi Paul,

                              Major is right,

War Aid cross has its place in front of peacetime orders.

                              Best regards

                              Daniel
