This cross is a fake.
If you do a search on "9th bead fake" you will see several discussions
about this style of cross.
It is characterized by the overly large 9th bead in the crown's band
and by the over / under style "8" in the 1870 date.
Regarding the 9th bead fake I know and in this case it is very clear, but about the over/under style 8 in the date I didn;t know, now I stand to be corrected, but in the book The Iron Time page 112 thee are 2 cross with a similar date.
Thanks
Alf

I think I recall that the cross you referenced in Privitera's book was pointed out to be a 9th bead fake as well.

The cross on page 112 of the first edition of the "Iron Time" is indeed
a 9th bead fake. Just after the book was published, we contacted Mr. Previtera
and the problem was corrected in the 2nd edition of his great book.

Thank you ddbinkd and gregM.
I have the second edition of the book, but I couldn't find the correction.
Alf.
