Imperial militaria experts, pls help ...

    Dear Sirs,

My friend obtained one imperial helmet.
The helmet has not a spike, but a ridge with fur.
It has also eagle with writing "for king and motherland (faterland)". Some thing like this.

Would you tell what kind of helmet it is and what is the approx value.

    BRGS,
    Alex

It sounds like an early 19th century Prussian Garde helmet. The Pickel wasn't introduced until around mid-century. If you can post a scan I'm sure Tony can tell you more.

Thank you for reply. Unfortunately my friend has no dig camera. The helmet is black. Liner looks like liners at german ww2 helmets. The chinstrap is from metall pieces and of silver colour. The eagle is of silver colur too. He intends to sell it for 300 usd. I am sure it costs more than 300 usd.

The only minus: the fur is not original (as per info of previous owner).

May be someone can post the picture of similar helmet ?

      BRGS,
      Alexander

I also think that the price is ridiculous. I try
to enforce him not to sell it for such price. He has one buyer. I saw the price on imperial helmets starts from 700 usd - till several thousands.

              Hi Alex,

No insult intended, but let´s hope the rest of the helmet is fine if the previous owner already admitted that the fur is new. Your hometown is known for excellent craftsmanship of days long gone by.

              Cheers, Frank H.

The helmet comes from Kenigsberg and was bought for 100 usd form drunkard. Moreover I do not intend to promote the trade. I want to identify
the helmet and determine its approx value. I will try to make photo. I will be glad if memebers will
hrlp to answer to my questions.

                With best regards,

                    Interesting

Hi Alex, interesting, early helmet. But I don't think I've ever seen a comb-ridge quite like that. But, this one's quite a bit earlier than most that I see. Anybody else ever see a peak like this??

There was a new fur on ridge. I took it of for better view.
