    Hello,

this is the same Bravery Medal. "Der Tapferkeit" is in German, "Fortitudini" in Latin language.

Earlier versions, up to Emperor Franz Joseph I, have the German inscription back, last issue, with portrait of Emperor Karl I has Latin inscription.

    best regards
    Tomasz

I'm not sure why they changed from German to Latin, but my speculation is: A-H was multinational monarchy, and as war progressed, political situation in the country was deteriorating, non-german nations (mostly Slavic) claiming more and more rights, so the new emperor decided to change from the language of only one nation (which was in fact not a majority in A-H) to the more universal and neutral Latin.
