Th 1914 date cannot be. Probably typo, that should read 24/4/1918.

First tanks were Britiish in 1916, and this French tank with the turret was circa 1918.

      Hi Gary:

The French tank post card is dated 20.3.1932 (20 March 1932)

The German soldiers in an airplane is dated 24.4.1914 (24 Apr 1914)...which is strange since the war didn't start until Aug 1914

I'll post pix of the backs. Most in French

          Hello!
The postcard with the plane was sent from Sennelager in Germany, a military training ground from 1890 up to now. The adressee Marie lived in Kedingen, located in Lothringen (french: Lorraine), in those days part of the german empire since France lost the war 1870/71. A lot of the inhabitants were still french spoken and sort of proud of their heritage („Vive le Lorraines!“).
So this card was sent by a german soldier from his training to his beloved Marie at home.
The only issue I have is the missing part of the postmark - its only on the stamp and not on the card, as one might probably exspect...
          Regards
          Hagrid

Thank you for the info...now that you say it....yes the postage mark is missing on the card itself yet on the stamp. I just like the early airplane etc.....studio picture. Lorraine and Saar was back and forth between France and Germany.

There is part of the stamp folded on the edge.
