Interesting pocket on a staff officer tunic

I have not seen this before. I got a staff officer/major tunic model 1910 and was looking at it and realized that on the left sleeve on the lower cuff is a pocket. I guess that this was something staff type had built in for use of doc storage with EZ access.

Anyone seen thos before?

I understand not many people here are interested in uniforms but I just thought this pocket on the underside of the left cuff is interesting and most unusual.

These are the tabs used only by general staff officers. These are/were silver but are mostly grey now. I think gold was for war ministry staff officers

shoulder straps of the staff major

These are the 1910 type which were slip on. I have seen sew in most most common early types are slip on. This tunic could be a 1910 made in any year during the war up through 1916. Maybe later.

General Staff officers trousers

These are the correct trousers for a staff officer. These actually came with a General Staff major's kleiner rock that I have.

I want to take better pictures but I have to move the mannequin. I need some more torso figures to display my tunics. Anyone have any to offer?

Could you put something in the little baby kangaroo pouch sleeve pocket so we can see what that looks like? It seems like a good idea--and maybe one reason they went to the deep turnback cuffs from M1915 on.

I am extremely--indeed excessively-- interested in Imperial uniforms. Alas, even in the days when I was a 10 year old rummaging with dealers' approval in Wehrmacht generals' tunics pockets, there were NEVER any Imperial tunics around. I had to order a couple from that guy out in Walnut Creek, California, back in the days when fifty bucks was a kid's entire summmer's work (hard, long work-- sheet, Minimum Wage was a buck-eighty when I was in college!)... and I have none of those few left. Went through a Weimar SchuPo fit after seeing "M"--and those are all gone too. No more Third Reich uniform-ery left either.

Now, of course, we all realize that there are no Imperial uniforms out there because you and Tony have them ALL!

I'll see what I can do. I need an original copy of orders or something to keep displayed in the pocket. Or, maybe a pic of the KAISER!! Maybe this guy was a bit of a cheese.

I think this is neat. I have a map from WWI but it is a UK map of an area of the Western Front. Captured map being carried to HQ

Left side only and neat is right. I didn't know what to think at first. Very well done at the time of tunic manufacture.

Too bad these webster mann. are so small headed for their bady. Also, you would think he would change the head on them every so many years. Cannot be too much trouble to change.

awesome tunic! Congratulations! Even here in Germany it is hard to find good tunics. Back 15 years ago it was a bit different, but now I know where all the good stuff is!

My GAWD those are two beautiful tunics! You must be extremely pleased with them. Wonderful! Contact me at home for information, plans etc on how to build your own torso mannequins if you wish. I make all my own (60+) and have come up with a new design that works excellent. Fully adjustable in height for the headgear and torso. Have a look at how they look.
