    IC in a dome display

    Got this displayed IC. Unfortunately the glasdome was misssing. But should be easily found.

        Very nice. Congratulations, These old dome displays are seldom seen anymore. I have one also,
        however mine has a different color velvet.

          Nice one
          Good idea, with the ribbon attached, mostly you see them without the ribbon.
          I think it would not be easy to find an other glasdome......but with a bit of luck and this topic......who knows

            Finding an origianl 1918 glass dome may be next to impossible however
            new glass domes of this style and approximate size readily available.
            Ebay, Amazon, Walmart all carry them.

              Yes, they are but I would suggest looking for quality glass clock domes from Germany as there is less distortion in them.

                Absolutely impossible. The reason this doesn't have one is that glass is fragile. But, it is only glass, and the real beauty is the style of display, which is the base and "background", which is also where the art is.
                Even having a custom piece of glass made should be straightforward, or as Greg says, readily available rady made, on the consumer market.
