Glad everyone enjoys the EK's. I am still gathering more information but they definitely had two vastly different experiences.

One was a member of the 1. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß in Europe and the other was a member of the Schultztruppe für Deutsch-Ostafrika and spent a good portion of his career in Africa. Both joined the military in the mid-1890's and departed after the war. Beyond that, the information gets a little more hard to find.
