    I believe this is the Hessian equivilent to the EK2.

      Yep, its the EKII equivalent from Hessen. Very rare with a silver mark! I never saw this before. Nice find!

            Don,

            The placement of the silver content mark on the obverse of an Imperial medal is unusual, as these stamps were commonly applied to the edge, normally close to the attachmnent ring if at all.

              I agree with Frosch. Usually these marks are in the rim or on the big ribbon ring. Rarely on the loop and I saw it only once on an EKII on the frame. I think I am going to check my Hessen medals right now...

                  Yes that is indeed an interesting place to put a silvermark.. But I haven't seen this award before too many times either. So thanks for sharing and widening our Imperial universe.
