1813 Ekii

My friends, I have a general question for someone who might know. I have scoured the dealer sites and can't find a frame of reference for what 1813 EKIIs go for when the scarce little buggers do change hands. I have been offered one for $1,200. From the pic I have received, it is impossible to tell whether this is a put together from a 1914 frame as so many are, or an out and out copy. However, I have demanded better pics bot hfront and back. In the meantime, I just wanted to put this initial price into perspective, any help would be greatly appreciated

I got my two 1813 EK2 for about 1200-1350 USD each, so your price is ok IMO.

I think $900-$1200 is a good range for a nice one. Be VERY careful and get a lifetime guarantee from a well known and reputable dealer. Have patience--real ones don't come up all that often, but fakes abound.

This one cost me 1600 Euro from a reputable dealer and with a lifetime guarantee....a year ago...!

An identical one sold at HH (auction 46) for 1000 Euro.... neither have ribbons.

I would suggest US $900.00 would be an unlikely bargain, and US $1200 - 1800 more like it.

So between Dougs $900.00 min and my $2000.00 max you have plenty of wiggle room..

Be CAREFUL.

Mine cost me a wonderfull 1700 euros and has a life-guarantee from the most respected dealer around. It has it's original ribbon and real killer beign the fluid oak leaf as is the case with Feldmarschall Bluecher's ek2. I've seen only one for sale besides my own.

I didn't say I'd SELL one for $900 ....but it might be possible to find one for that. I was offerred $1000 for one by a very high end dealer two years ago.
