Are you purchasing both bars? These are quite wonderful bars and for the specialist not impossible to research. Although the first one is spectacular (notice also the rare Rettungsmedaille), I almost prefer the Civilian Medal Bar (Fracksspange), because of the last two Scandinavian orders at the end. The second bar looks like put together from the famous medal makers "Godet"... I wouldn't be surprised! A indeed beautiful bar of a quite decorated doctor...
It's a Swedish order, here's a brief explaination:
The Royal Order of the Northern Star (Kungliga Nordsjarneorden) was instituted on 23rd June 1748 by King Frederick I. Its present statute date from 22nd March 1952. The Order may be awarded to Swedes and to foreigners for civilian services, official and Civil Service activities. scientific services, literary, scholastic and beneficial work, as well as for advantageous innovations. The Order has three classes, the 2nd Class being divided into two grades: Commander Grand Cross, Commander 1st Class, Commander and Knight. The ribbon of the order is plain black. (Ref: Orders, Medals and Decorations of Britain and Europe by Paul Hieronymussen).
I think the first bar belonged to a navy officer named Hugo M..
It was sold many years ago by a german auction house.
Very interesting bars.

Absolutely,
I was sure someone remembers the auction. I like the group of Vice-Admiral Hugo M. because of his history with the Baltic Division in Finland.
Hugo got Finnish Cross of Liberty 1st class w/brilliants... The another of the two ever awarded....I wonder where is it?
Thanks for input to all. I am sorry I can not post reverses, since I pictures only obverses when I went to see these bars last week.

Can he be VERIFIED as having received the Oldenburg (especially "vor dem Feinde!! ) and Mecklenburg awards? I can't find any photos of him wearing any ribboned decorations, and he did not show those as of the (admittedly never "current") February 1918 Navy Rank List.
I am sorry to say that your second medal bar is "damaged." The little "Wrestling Association" arms have... fallen off of that Stumpy Swastika Cross. Tooooo bad. You can send it to me and I will take care of the poor thing.
While we do not want to EVER publicize actual award numbers for Lazy Dealers, WE know how many of those there were and I think if the original award rolls could be looked at (THAT would take 5 minures! ) this German civilian with all his "invisible" awards would probably show up in the Orders Almanac.

Who are the lazy dealers ??
I got the name for the owner of the 2nd group pictured, but can not publish it since there seems to be some lazy fellows we have to avoid when sharing information
