Not just another "black" wound badge...

    Hello all,
This badge was recently listed on e-bay as a black wound badge made of "kriegsmetal" with not much else being said about it. I e-mailed the seller and ask them to confirm if it was brass, and it was, so I bid on it and won. When I received it yesterday, I was very pleasantly surprised. This "black" wound badge is in fact silver plate over brass (not painted), and it is so darkly tarnished, I can see why someone would think it was black. There is a lot of plating in the low areas, especially around the helmet.
If that wasn't enough, I discovered a small maker mark on the left rear of the helmet-"E.S.", very unusual in itself.
That is not all, it appears that the pebbling is either double-struck or have an altered appearance due to a worn or dirty die.
I am still not done...this badge seems to be a twin for another that I have marked H.T. I am wondering if manufacturers shared dies? Thanks for looking.

No, it is brass, with silver plating. Thanks for the reply.
