Was this then the Kronprinz who lived only 90 days as Emperor? I've read the Koeniggraetz book and I should have remembered it was he. A very good general as the second armee served a very critical role.

        Anybody read this script?

I sure hope someone can read this document. The script is beyond me.

        http://home.comcast.net/~militaria/leoofz.jpg

This file is 1.5 meg so it'll take some time to load but you won't find a better photo of a doc anywhere. I can read the word fortification and wonder if it's somehow also a list of skills learned (or not...)

Take a look please and I will be encouraged to post large photos of more of the documents and photos.

exactly that it is. Its a Offiziers-Reifezeugnis (not sure if thats the right term). I cannot read it word for word, but i am sure, its a kind of certificate, that says, Leo is able to be an Officer.

            Brian,

Here's the best I can do with the first document; I'm sure one of the other members can fix any holes/mistakes. These are great!

Good job John. And two of these documents were signed by the man who would be king for only 90 days. Most of the time in a coma.

I'm also told the II Armee Doc indicates something of value was given, cash, a silver cigarette case, ?

Any relation to feld marchall Wilhelm Mauritz von Klingspor?
If that is so, there is a strong finnish connection here..

Antti, we know of the Swedish connection. I'll ask about this one. Thanks for the heads up on this man.
