I was a bit late last night for posting photos but got one today. There is no markings I can see anywhere, the cloth itself and the studs appear to be in very good condition, maybe too good.I suspect maybe its been put together. The bottle itself appears to have been certainaly made with the narrow neck. The "cork" has R3 to the bottom, the rubber washer looks far too new, if not identical to Grolsh types.(Not that I've had a bottle for a while).

How does the buttons of the cover look like? Is there a compass-rose like symbol on them?

I meant the other side of the buttons.

                            Civilian Bottle

The cover is an altered military style, as made from the 1890s to the 1950s
but more likely a post WWII one. The bottle is not a canteen, but a typical bottle for workers, miners etc. Seems also to be a 1940-1950 style.
