Hello guys,
i just bought this Oldenburg Ehrenkreuz 3. Class with swordes on the militaria fair in Kassel.
It seems to be a little bit controversial. Some collectors say they have to look like this (the unclear look) other say its a copy.
Its the 2. Form (small crown above the coat of arms and the size) of the cross and its made of cast iron. The book from Friedhelm Beyreiß about the oldenburg awards isnt accurate on much things. He wanted to write a correction but he never did it before he died in 2014. But he had a cross in the 2. Form in his collection which was also made of cast iron. (Here a link from the auction of his collection: https://www.kuenker.de/de/archiv/stueck/57097)
Size: 35mm
Weight: 10,4g
Now i am really unsecure about it. Are here some Oldenburg experts who can help me with my cross?
