Question on the wearing of medals on WWI German uniforms

    Hi Guys,

    My question is this:

Are there awards besides the EK1, the flieger/beobachter a.o. flight related, and the wound badge that were worn frequently by German officers on the left side lower breast/stomach area where also the EK1, flieger/beobachter, wound badge were worn?

I am asking as I have a Bavarian WWI uniform with loops for two badges and I prefer a pre 1918 (so no wound badge) and non-pilot/flyer set up. What would be a likely badge for the Bavarian officer to have worn in the 1914-1917 period (besides the EK1 he will obviously be wearing)?

Johanniter cross is out (only for nobles and protestants).

    Thanks.

    Cheers, W

How about a Bulgarian Military Order for Bravery 4th class?
-It was a pin back award.
    -Was issued pre-1918.
    -issued to foreigners(Germans)

      Hi,

there were a few decotations in 1st class grade, which should be worn on the left breast, like war crosses of Oldenburg, Mecklenburg-Schwerin & -Strelitz, Lippe, Braunschweig etc.

      greetings
      Tomasz
