Yrs. ago I received this, (pretty salty ... ), Armeedolch.

Anyway, such pattern dagger´s aren´t that easy to find, so, who cares ! ...

I agree very nice.... I would give the knife a good wipe down with oil to halt the rust from advancing

It looks like your handle and cross-guard were re-painted. I believe the cross-guards were bare metal and the black on the handle was different

But it does not go away with acetone

Here is my example. The paint on the handle is worn, but I don't think it was ever a gloss enamel.

I'm not sure what the acetone test means, but I am not saying that the paint is new, just that it looks new in your photos.
