    Cased Schaumburg-Lippe Loyal Service Cross

Thought you might enjoy this. Only a little over 8000 non-coms and enlisted men on the award rolls, so it's somewhat of a rarity.

    I love the simplicity.

    Beautiful! Enjoy.

                Note the differences...

...in the suspension systems of the respective crosses.

(added) I'm going to venture a guess that mine was meant for a medalbar, due to the small suspension ring.

Now that you mention it. There are very few awards with flat reverses. At lest every other EK equivalent (oh, man how often have i used this word this month ) has a reverse.

Nice Cross, Ralph. I would agree, its a "Spangenstück".

A very nice variant with the two ring attachment! I don't think there are "Spangenstücke" of these crosses. I only know two variants so far depending on the material used. Some are made from fire gilt bronze with polished parts and some are made from Goldbronze.

                          Hi
Sorry to jump in on your thread but it seems like a good place to get an answer. Please let me have your opinions on this First class cross on ebay. Can you tell me if it is ok and if so is it a good price.

Andy, I've asked a few of the smarter, more knowledgable members here about this cross because I'm watching it also. It is an original but is priced high at the moment- in fact he extended the auction because no one had bid on it.

Andy: The pin of this cross looks like a Meybauer pin. But without another example maybe from another forum member for comparison I would be very careful.
