    Interesting to a point.

    There are some 'facts' that are missing.
    For instance. I see no mention of Flux being used.
    In soldering , whether soft or hard, an acidic Flux is used with heat to surface prep the areas to be soldered. The Flux excludes oxygen from the surface preventing oxidation that precludes good soldering adhesion. Flux is also elimental to the flow of solder where you want it to go.
    Without Flux you will have very little success at soldering.

      its called,,,,BORAX ..

      the old german used Borax


      surely the jeweller who is doing that restoration will used the modern solder fat .

      but I wil sugest it in the tread as it is stil available and this way its completely done the old way
