    Scanning objects

Hello, I wonder if anyone have experience of scanning your collection with ordinary scanner? I have a Cannon MG7550, it's not working very well for scanning a medal bar. Any good tips?

All depends on how thick an item is.... Just a single item without the bulk of a group of items works most times. Thick and curved items don't scan very well. I have scanned a loose EKII without the ribbon scanned ok, not as good as picture taken with a camera set on macro setting

Epson scanners seem to work better.

Most the the pictures I post are done with my scanner. It is a lot
faster and easier than using the camera.

Don is correct. Epson scanners seam to work the beat. These were done
on a used Epson V500 that I bought of Ebay for $45.

Years ago I used an HP scanjet...it worked great and took excellent scans with detail and depth. Microsoft windows updates made it obsolete and it no longer works on newer systems.
          I then bought a Dell scanner....it sucks !

I have a Brother printer, scanner, fax unit works pretty well for me but do miss my Epson printer with the dua-brite ink cartridges as the dura-brite ink is water proof as the printed images inks won't run it they get wet and no need to spray a water-proof clear coating

The Epson V500 scans are truely amazing
I did some research so some of the Epsons like v500 use their own CCD sensor technology, they have better depth of field level than most of the scanners runing Contact Image Sensors.

Finally got my Epson! v37 though, the basic model of Epson Perfection line with CCD sensors.
So let's give it a test

Agreed. I am wondering what treasure might come next.

Need to learn the light box trick, too much shadow on bigger items.

                              Hi lewjian

I to had a hard time using modern scanners so I bought an old scanner Epson 1660, works perfect
