Strange Large WW1 Iron Cross bronze 9,5 x 9,5 cm HELP !!!

I have found this rather strange large 9,5 x 9,5 cm's big bronze Iron Cross.
I was thinking this could have been used on a grave or casket or something.

What is it ?
What's it called ?
Who would use it ?
Whats a vallue ?

I would guess that it might have been mounted on a slap of marble and was a paper weight. Or perhaps, it was mounted on a large wooden memorial 'Ehrentafel' showing names and/or photos of fallen veterans in a particular town. The later were quite common throughout Germany after the war.
It's a bit of military ephemera and has some value, I guess. But, I don't think a lot.

I figured as much. I was also thinking a casket emblem or grave marker from a high placed figure.

I put it on Ebay.com and lets see what the audiance has in their pockets. I don't have a clue what to expect so I dare not say what it will bring. I can do 5 dollars, it can do 500 ... i don't know.
