So I recently purchased this framed photo of a WWI soldier plus an imperial EK1, EK2 and black wound badge. I was hesitant to open up the frame but I had to see how legit the medals were. They are all magnetic! Both iron crosses are 3 piece construction and the EK1 is marked CD 800. No idea who the soldier is or what branch of service he was in either. Im not good with WWI German tunics. Pretty pumped with this framed set!

Ummm....that's not just a WWI soldier. That's a PLM winner pilot in a Uhlan tunic. Great photo!
If you opened the frame, could you scan it to get a really good look at the gent? That would be great.
The face escapes me right now. I can't shake BvR, but that's not a photo I recognize. Someone else should be able to quickly name him.
It would be hard to confirm that these are his actual awards, but it's a nice that they are original/period and it makes for a nice grouping nonetheless.

Come on, guys!!!!
That´s the "Red Baron" and the picture has at least been used as a title photograph for a book:

That leads to sad conclusions about the originality of the grouping -
pimped stuff for higher prices...
