Hi Kaye,
I know what you are saying about transforming normal cases in ek case, and we see it often on ebay, in this case, my instinct and experience, tell me this one is a geniune period ek case, re the ek sticker, as mentioned i think is period, but when applied?
We see higher grade awards in side opening cases, so i dont see why private purchase items, not being in a side opening case, especially if purchased from jeweller medal manufacturers/retailers.
Cheers
Wayne

That doesn't help the topic starter with his question...
thanks to the ebay etui dokters ...they completely destroy the marked
and its going to get worse.
right now a (hamburg) company making repro etuis fore iron crosses close to the originals ,,including WW1 etuis ..seen a few on ebay sold as copy's and had them in hand a couple of years ago .
wait until the wrong kind of Ebayers start aging those examples .
or using and exchanging inlet parts and so on .
as I suspect they already do .
for the topic starter its easy ,,
a carton ek glued on the top ,,its a no go ,,dont buy it .
my advice .
there are enough originals around of whom no one will have questions marks about.
buy those .
